I have only lived 14 years so far and yet from my short space of time on earth I have found something that I feel passionatly about; this is drama, dance, singing especially in the form of broadway musicals. My love is so great that at this point in my life with my family supporting me financially I would jump at the oppertunity of any chance to perform in a professional atmosphere without being paid. Although the moneyy is useful as I put it towards more dance classes which at this point in my life is probably my weakness in the performing arts. Don't get me wrong though, its not as though I am bad at them its just that I haven't had a proper training in any but jazz/modern, all these dance teachers however, say I'm a natural and would do well as a dancer. It is just hard to find the funding for the lessons as they are so expensive. If I could I would sign up to do as many dance, singing and drama lessons as I have time for in the day as not only do I find it a challenge but also a complete utter joy and pleasure.
So far in my life I have been dissapointed with my proffesional achievements in theatre I have appeared in a production of Little Shop of Horrors as Mrs.Luce and a member of Fagin's gang in Oliver (both with castings of 13-21). I also recently took part in a Shakespeare festival playing Theseus in a Midsummer Night's Dream (also at a proffesional theatre). Amongst these are the typical school plays, concerts ect. I have discovered that my real passion is musical theatre and I hope to work in this field in the future. I take vocal lessons (classical and broadway), piano lessons, drama lessons, jazz lessons as well as teaching myself to sing jazz, I also compose.
If anyone does read this please don't just think that I am the epitomy of 14 year old girls because I am serious about my love for musical theatre and I have been for many years. I don't think I could live if it were taken away from me and I can't see myself doing anything other in my future. I will fight my way to work in this profession even if it does mean that I don't get the best salary that I would be capable of in other fields, but I don't care because I will be doing something I enjoy.
