Jasmine Walker but known to many as Jazzy J is an 19 year old singer, rapper, actress and spoken word artist originally from Brooklyn, New York but grew up in north New Jersey. Jasmine has been singing and acting since the age of five. Since Jasmine grew up in a musical household it was no surprise that she would also pursue her career in performing arts.
As a high school student Jasmine was involved in many extracurricular activities. She was a member of drama club, step team, best buddies, and bible club. Throughout her High School career Jasmine performed at many events such as “The Talent Showcase” at Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ and “MO Idol” at Mount Olive High School in Flanders, NJ. After graduating from Mount Olive High School Jasmine now attends Delaware State University majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in TV, Radio, and Film.
After her performance at the Brooklyn College in a play called "A Christmas Tale" Jasmine was awarded a city council citation for her involvement in the Arts, from council member Melissa Mark Vive Rita. Jasmine also competed in the New Jersey District Fine Arts Festival, there she received an excellent score rating in the category of rap solo. Jasmine has had the pleasure of performing at the Beacon Theater in NYC in a play called "The Greatest Love Story Ever Told" alongside well known talents such as Tatyana Ali, Anna Maria Horsford, Guy Tory, Clifton Davis, Miguel Nunez and many more.
Jasmine also got the chance to sing background for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at the Beacon Theater in NYC. I love anything that has to do with entertainment, whether it be producing, writing, acting, hosting, singing, dancing, or working behind the scenes.
To be a well respected actress, singer, and poet.
